Jerry Garcia Foundation Lets Loose Ripples for Music Education

I lojerryve it when good music teams up with good works!

The Jerry Garcia Foundation is partnering with the Playing for Change Foundation to promote bringing music programs to children around the world. To that end, they’ve launched a new social media art-inspired effort, #RippleEffect, to raise awareness for this important cause.

The project is centered around the 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead and a new recording of the Dead’s classic, “Ripple.” This new version features Jerry’s daughter Keelin on vocals, performances by artists including Jimmy Buffett, David Crosby, Bill Kreutzmann, and David Hidalgo, plus musician Vasti Jackson playing Jerry’s own Fender Stratocaster.

Listen and watch:

You too can be part of the movement to implore those in charge to “let there be songs to fill the air.” Create your own artistic interpretation of a visual #RippleEffect using photos, videos, or art materials and tag your final product with #RippleEffect #StoriesofGratitude, #GlobalArt #JGF #PFCF. A #RippleEffect global art collage will be constructed and shared on The Jerry Garcia Foundation website and travel in an exhibition featuring the art of Jerry Garcia.
