Action Alert: Stand with Pope Francis on Climate Change
Written by Natalie Davis on September 23, 2015
Last spring, Pope Francis released an encyclical on the environment that called for action on climate disruption.
“We know that technology based on the use of highly polluting fossil fuels… needs to be progressively replaced without delay,” the pontiff wrote.
Now, the head of the Roman Catholic Church is touring the US and soon will be the first pope to address Congress. His timing could not be better: In weeks, world leaders meet at the UN Climate Conference in Paris to discuss what many call the issue of our times. The Sierra Club says this is environmental advocates’ best hope yet for international climate action.
Pope Francis wants all people of goodwill to join the cause. You can do so by taking action.
Get busy! Join the Sierra Club in calling for strong climate action in Paris.
