Join us in raising a glass to 20 years of operation and our second anniversary in Nashville. To mark the occasion, Grateful Dread Public Radio is launching its first official fund drive: the 2016 GDPR Spring Fundraising Fling! And we need your support.
We’re looking for people who believe in the power of information and independent noncorporate media to help us continue to provide Nashville and the world with diverse sounds and ideas for open minds. You can do that with a donation — either by giving a one-time contribution in any amount that works for you or by setting up a recurring monthly gift to the station.
The funds, which at this time are not tax deductible, go toward our mission to present programming dedicated to making a better world through promoting peace, justice, equality, and environmental sustainability. Contributions will help us keep equipment running smoothly and allow upgrading, pay for programming and royalties, and expand our news operations.
In this time of low-information voters and a mass media determined to pander to the lowest common denominator, we believe what we do is vital to helping progressive values grow and flourish in Middle Tennessee and through the rest of the country and to give voice to people, groups, issues, and points of view generally ignored and marginalized by the mainstream corporate media. We point to the Mussolini-like rise of Drumpf and the MSM’s slavish devotion to the campaign of the Democratic establishment candidate as dangers that show the intense need for strong, noncorporate media that focuses on true progressive views and encourages citizen action.
