Party-switching congressman opens for Trump at NJ rally

None other than White House aide Kellyanne Conway calls South Jersey “Trump country.”

So it’s no surprise that a massive crowd of MAGA hat-wearing New Jersey Republicans appeared in Wildwood, on the Jersey shore, to greet their leader.

Opening the show, Mediaite reports, was local boy and House of Representatives member Jeff Van Drew. He was elected as a Democrat; Trump’s impeachment, Van Drew said, compelled him to switch to the GOP.

The former Democratic congressman championed the president’s accomplishments and added, “This very year is a flashpoint election. Are we going to allow ourselves just to be like any other nation in the world? Or are we going to keep America great?”
