In the fall of 2006, Glen Ford, Bruce Dixon (RIP), Margaret Kimberley, and Leutisha Stills of CBC Monitor left Black Commentator, which Ford had co-founded and edited since 2002, and launched Black Agenda Report.
Since then, BAR and Black Agenda Radio have ensured that Black and brown voices and views — generally ignored, distorted, and maligned by the corporate media — found an audience. Following the untimely passing of co-founder Bruce Dixon in 2019, that crucial work continues with even more fire, moral clarity, urgency, and rightness. Verdant Square Radio (previously GDPR) and Grateful Dread Peace Media are proud to stand with BAR, as we have since its founding, to insist: Black Lives Matter.
