eTown’s mission is to educate, entertain, and inspire a diverse audience through art and conversation in order to create a socially responsible and environmentally sustainable world. Join eTown each week for an hour of community, conviviality, comradeship, and creating a better world.

eTown is a nonprofit, nationally syndicated radio broadcast/podcast, multimedia, and events production company. Since 1991, eTown has produced musical, social, and environmental programming to uplift and inspire listeners around the world. The eTown community comes for the sounds, and stays for the message. The shows are recorded in front of a live audience in the solar-powered eTown Hall in Boulder, Colo., which also serves as a social and environmental hub for community events.

As it has since its founding, eTown presents the eChievement Award each week to a person like you doing exceptional work in her or his hometown. The award goes to folks from all over the world who help to make their communities a better place. Winners are nominated by our listeners and interviewed on-air about their extraordinary community work. Stories range from feeding the hungry to cleaning up the environment to housing the homeless.

NickHelenCropYour hosts every week are Nick and Helen Forster.

eTown host/co-founder Nick Forster is a founding member of the world-renowned bluegrass band, Hot Rize. He is also an accomplished record producer, session musician, and touring side performer. Nick is the leader of the highly respected eTown house band, the eTones.

Actor, singer, director, voiceover artist, former co-owner and co-producer of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and Nick’s partner, Helen Forster is the executive producer and co-host of eTown. She oversees virtually all aspects of the editing and production of each live taping, the eChievement Awards, and the broadcast show, which airs on stations across the nation and in Canada.  If that were not plenty, Helen’s golden pipes lend color to the eTones.

Be sure to check out Nick’s pandemic-era gift to the locked-down world, the series “Teach Me One Thing.”
