Special event announcement from Nashville Peace and Justice Center:
Labor Day is a celebration of the incredible contributions of America’s working people. Through sweat, sacrifice and innovation, workers built this country and make it run every day.
This Saturday, September 5, the Central Labor Council of Nashville and Middle Tennessee, Workers’ Dignity and Middle Tennessee Jobs With Justice will stage the third annual Nashville Labor Day Parade, followed by the annual Workers’ Dignity fundraising festival.
Assembly will begin at 3:00 PM and a colorful parade will depart at 3.30 PM from the pavilion behind St. Edward’s Catholic Church, 190 Thompson Lane in South Nashville. The parade will loop up and down Nolensville Pike and end back at the church, where the Workers’ Dignity festival will take place.
Local labor unions and other groups are urged to bring their union banners and colors for what promises to be a memorable event filled with solidarity and fellowship.
We look forward to a great day celebrating the working families of Nashville!
